Last week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) confirmed that style is taking a backseat to something that concerns all of us: extended (reliable) battery life. Luckily, the industry continues to listen and there were impressive responses to our queries. No one likes to see the battery percentage on our phones, tablets, or other devices dwindle and we often go to extremes to prolong the inevitable. You’ve tried the tricks: turning your phone off until you *really* need it, turning off Bluetooth and wifi features, etc. These efforts remain a fruitless, inefficient tactic that leaves us more frustrated than when we began. Is it possible to be productive without a device crapping out on us?

The long anticipated move to wireless charging also got off to a great start with the inclusion of this feature in Dell’s Latitude 7285 2-in-1. Users can now shift their focus from charging their device to experiencing their device.
We’re all pleased to see these battery-related innovations, but as experienced technical specialists, we’re also a bit skeptical. Will our users actually get the benefits promised?
